Verses of ZHANG Ye

Non so per quanto tempo ha dormito.

Una gigantesca palma nera

dal cielo afferra il rosso leopardo.

Proprio come raccogliere un fagiolo.

Agilmente e abilmente, senza lasciare tracce.

e fremono e gridano

e io sono anche un po’ brezza

questa notte.

ZHANG Ye
Desert Sunset (and another poem)
With a thump
the glass fence along the horizon is smashed
and a red leopard escapes from the blue jail

The free footstep tune wafts over dune upon dune
The red leopard runs wildly after the white quicksand and roars with joy
till it is exhausted

I do not know how long it has slept
A giant black palm
from the sky grabs the red leopard
just like picking up a red bean
nimbly and adeptly, without a trace

      Passing a City at Night

The roar of the train is reduced to a breeze when it reaches you
The breeze gently walks around without touching anything
But the flowers have recognized it
They quiver  and call out low
I am also a breeze tonight
